Kevin Richards, Executive Director

Kevin has over 20 years experience in marketing, sales, and operations before departing the corporate life to fulfill his vision for making recreation accessible to the underserved.  In addition to launching The Rec Room, he is a founder of Pickleball Ratings.

Keith Carrato, Director

With over 10 years of experience in the sporting goods industry at Nike and Keen Footwear, Keith is a leader with a diverse background in Strategic Planning, Product Creation and Management, Community Involvement and General Management. In his time at Nike, Keith led the team responsible for the Nike Community Impact Fund's Investment Portfolio, and was a member of the Nike Maxim award winning team for “Do the Right Thing." 

Rafe Sales, M.D., Director

Dr. Sales is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon who founded Summit Spine Institute in 2007.  As a specialist in minimally invasive solutions for complex spinal problems, Dr.Sales has been frequently recognized as Portland’s top Spine and Trauma Surgeon.  His mission is and has always been to provide patients with the best opportunity to return to their prior function, be it through non-operative or operative care.

Amber Knight

Amber is a recent graduate of Portland State University's School of Business, where she and eight peers chose The Rec Room to provide consultative services to during the Capstone class term. As the Project Manager, Amber led the group in delivering valuable consulting in finance, marketing, human resources, and other critical areas specific to development through launch to growth management. Amber is close to completing her yoga instructor certification.
